Should the US ban TikTok?

So the big news is that the Supreme Court is unanimously upholding the decision to ban or sell TikTok come January 19th.
This is a major decision for, like, 170 million Americans who were conned by the communist Chinese into using the app on a daily basis.
If you can’t tell, I’m not a fan, and I think this ban is a good thing.
And I freely admit that I probably have a very “boomer” take on this, I don’t use TikTok, I’ve never used it and I will never use it, I don’t want that garbage on my phone—nor do I want it rotting my brain and eroding my attention span down to 15 seconds or less.
For that matter I also don’t watch YouTube shorts or Instagram reels or anything like that, short form videos like that absolutely destroy your memory and ability to focus.
Still, rather than an outright ban, I think a better thing would be to force China to sell the app to an American company, or preferably to someone like Elon Musk.
Because I agree that it’s a valuable tool for communication… but as it stands, at the end of the day, it’s still a weapon of mass indoctrination that’s controlled by America’s number two enemy—China.
Our number one enemy are the communist Democrats, but seeing as we can’t ban or deport them (can we deport the democrats?) we’ll have to settle for TikTok.
Trump sounds like he might step in and use an executive order to save the app, which is incredible because it was his plan to ban it in the first place.
But he’d score a lot of points with gen Z, who are soon to be the biggest voting bloc in the nation.
I don’t know why he suddenly reversed course, but if politicians are afraid of banning TikTok over the political fallout and what it’ll do to their careers, then they need to evaluate what’s more important: the safety of this country, or their poll numbers.
The very real argument is that TikTok is spying on your phone.
And it is, that’s not a conspiracy theory, they flat out, 100 percent are spying on you.
People like Robert Kennedy say so what if they’re spying on your phone, everyone spies on your phone, including the US government.
First of all, what the hell kind of argument is that?
How about let’s stop the communists from spying on us, and then stop our government from spying on us
Not say, “well we’re doing it too so may as well let the Chinese!”
The Constitution was never set up to protect the enemy freely broadcasting their evil messaging to our children.
Let’s use the left’s old foil Adolph Hitler: if this were World War II, would we allow Hitler the ability to promote his messaging and beliefs to all our children?
No!
So why are we doing it now?
These people are our enemies, there is NO other way to look at it.
I lived there, they HATE us.
This is all about soft power and global influence, something the US cannot afford to lose but we’re losing it anyway.
Platforms like TikTok are being leveraged by the Communist Chinese as tools to influence Americans and promote pro-Chinese narratives.
And it’s true!
Studies have shown that people who spend time on TikTok have a much higher opinion of China than people who don’t.
And a new Rutger’s University study just proved, conclusively, by studying the algorithms that TikTok is manipulating search results to show only positive stories about China.
I understand people will be affected. This is the consequence of our decision to rely on something made by the Communist Chinese.
When I listen to people defending TikTok, a lot of times it sounds like drug addicts fighting to keep using their drugs.
It’s like moths to the flame.
TikTokers warn that people will have to get their content in different ways, it won’t be the same.
So what?
Adapt, it’s worth the price to pay to change the way you consume media to free yourself from the yoke of Chinese oppression.
This is not a consequence free decision, there is a price to pay for being free from China, and this is the price.
There will be victims who will suffer from this decision, small businesses and creators who rely on it for money.
But the alternative is to continue down a path where we turn all of our private data over to a company run by the CCP!
I mean one of ByteDance’s board members is Wu Shugang, a Communist Chinese government official with a background in… propaganda.
The company’s vice president, Zhang Fuping, serves as the Committee Secretary for the Communist Chinese Party.
If that’s not enough, then consider this: ByteDance has their headquarters in Beijing.
And China’s National Intelligence Law forces all companies to aid the Chinese Communist Party in gathering intelligence… and that they turn over all of their data when requested.
Do you get it?
We’ve sold our privacy to a company that’s legally required to give everything they have on *you to the Chinese government.
The bottom line is that China is our enemy, so we know this app is not for our benefit.
It may look good, but we are being used and our culture is being undermined.
This is a threat to all Americans.
We are at war with China, whether we recognize it or not.
Communists support TikTok, and TikTok supports communists.
End of story.
I have no problem with free “American” speech, but these commies can go to hell.

  1. There is so much I could say on this subject, but most would neither see nor understand it.. I am however in total agreement with you, nonetheless I have lost faith in the ability of individuals let alone the masses in making intelligent decisions..the pandemic confirmed this..

Clearly, whenever someone is willing to submit to evil, they invariably support it..thus will be judged appropriately, regardless of the idealistic justification they use to delude themselves in their decision..

    1. Yep, never underestimate the stupidity of people in large groups. That goes doubly for nations. We’re all brainwashed and want our conveniences over our freedoms. Pretty pathetic.

The Biden Junta wants to ban TikTok for the following reasons :

    (1) it has NOT tried to ban “RED NOTE” which is an App wholly owned by the Chinese Government .

    (2) But Israel has complained

“Another major reason banning TikTok has strong bipartisan support is that the site is being used by many young people to share information on the Israeli government’s action in Gaza. The head of the Anti-Defamation League was actually caught on tape complaining about the “TikTok problem.” This use of TikTok made TikTok a target for the many politicians who think the First Amendment makes an exception for speech critical of Israel.”

Wherefore I disagree with the ban.

    1. Thanks for the comment Jose, regardless of Red Note or any of these other apps, the government spying needs to stop. People should be able to freely communicate and share information without being spied on by their government, or any government for that matter. It’s illegal and criminal.
