California’s INSANE New Gun Law: Self-Defense is Now a Crime?!

The only thing California hates more than a secure border is the 2nd Amendment.

Individual gun rights have been attacked relentlessly here in California—which is a big problem for the three and a half million law-abiding gun owners in the state.

And it’s about to get a lot worse.

I don’t know what it is about these commie lefty politicians and their love affair with criminals, but they’re doing everything in their power to make it illegal for you to defend yourself.

In your own home!

So the story today is there’s a new bill from the radical state Assembly Member Rick “Chavez Zbur” out of Los Angeles—where else—and he’s trying to make it illegal for you to defend yourself in your home.

The actual bill, known as AB 1333, is trying to change the state’s justifiable homicide laws.

What it does is eliminate protections for you in your own home, removing specific circumstances where homicide is currently considered “justifiable.”

Like defending yourself from an intruder in your home.

The bill also makes it clear when homicide is not justifiable—including instances where a person uses more force than necessary for self-defense.

I really hope and pray I’m never in a situation like this, because I will not be giving someone who breaks into my home a love tap.

When you threaten my family, you’ve given up your rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of continued existence.

What’s that old saying, your rights end where my rights begin?

Well my rights are nonnegotiable in my own home.

I love how these commies, who’ve never touched a gun in their life, and who have armed police escorts, and live in gated communities with security—people who have no connection to the real world—deign to lean out the windows of their ivory towers from time to time and tell the rest of us what we’re doing wrong.

Back to the bill, what’s the practical effect here, what does this actually mean for you and me?

Well let’s say you’re sitting in your own home, minding your own business, with your family, and someone breaks into your house.

The glass shatters, the door gets kicked down, and there you have an intruder—an unknown, obviously hostile person, with unknown intentions—but he’s clearly not here to deliver cookies.

Panicked, you shout at him to get out of your house and instead of obeying, he starts walking toward you.

Maybe he puts his hand in his pocket.

Well you’ve given him every benefit of the doubt, so you draw your gun and shoot him dead.

A reasonable reaction, I think, given the situation.

Under the current laws, you would be justified in your response.

But under Bill AB1333 if it turns out he was just reaching for a pack of Mentos in his pocket and was actually unarmed… now you’re in trouble.

You just shot and killed an innocent man.

Statistically, he’s probably an illegal alien, which—double trouble—now you killed an underprivileged person who was just looking to overcome his disadvantages for a better life.

You racist.

This bill removes your legal right to defend yourself in your own home.

In fact, even if what they call “excessive force” isn’t used, you could still go to jail.

What is even the point of this law?

Is there a surge of criminals being gunned down after invading people’s homes?

Like, why make it criminal to shoot someone who’s attacking you in your house?

Aside from the obvious infringement on personal rights, this bill assumes we live in a low-crime state with lots of police and exceptional law enforcement.

That’s a fairytale.

California is a crime-ridden third-world ghetto infested with villainous predators from all over the world.

I’d say we live in the wild west, except at least back then, people could defend themselves!

And actually, history shows the Wild West was a lot more peaceful than Los Angeles is today, or even San Diego, where I live.

Our government’s only job is protecting our lives and property from harm; the government has no other role, despite what they want you to believe, and despite all the unconstitutional laws they’ve passed.

Yet they have no interest in protecting us, the law-abiding citizens, and in fact they’ve failed that duty time and time again.

And that’s because our government wants to make you a victim, and protect the criminals.

Protecting criminals weakens society and creates dependence on the government.

Which is exactly the point: If you’re not allowed to defend yourself, you have to rely on the government to defend you, and friends, that’s a bad spot to be in.

Now the bright spot is that a lot of these crazy bills get proposed every year, and most of them get shot down right away.

But the fact that they think they can even propose something like this, tells you a lot about what they think they can get away with.

  1. Great commentary! I’m getting ready to move back to San Diego. I had to leave during covid, I didn’t think they where ever going to give up on that BS. Hopefully Trump hasn’t been compromised and can turn the commie policies left from the previous regime.

    1. Yikes! Turn back now while you can! I’d steer clear of California until we can fix this wreck of a state. I’m sure hoping and praying God will save our state but until then we’re always looking for a way out! Don’t get me wrong, the weather is nice, but how much are you willing to pay for it?
